Menahga

A town incorporated in 1892, the word “Menahga” is Ojibwe for blueberry. Development came along with the wire grass industry and the town never looked back. The waters of Spirit Lake lap gently against sugar sand beaches that anyone would be delighted to run their toes through. Not only is Menahga the Gateway to the Pines, but it’s the home of St. Urho Days, a holiday the largely Finnish population takes very seriously.
